HOMES FOR STUDENTS NAMES HEALTH AND SAFETY MANAGER

Patrick Ryan

Homes for Students, the national student accommodation manager, has appointed Patrick Ryan as health and safety manager for the company’s nationwide portfolio of 20,000 student beds.

He joins the company after running his own risk assessment consultancy providing health and safety and fire risk assessments and property condition reports. He previously served as a firefighter with County Durham and Darlington Fire Service.

Ryan will work with Homes for Students’ Compliance Director, Mandy Blackburn, and will be responsible for managing all aspects of health and safety across the group, including Homes for Students and Prestige Student Living properties and ensuring compliance across all the company’s business areas, including 14 new-build handovers of 3,758 beds during September 2019.

Blackburn said: “Patrick joins the business at an exciting time and brings a wide range of expertise to support Homes for Students’ growth plans with student bed numbers under management expected to reach 30,000 by the end of 2020.”
