ISS UK has announced a record achievement of 31 awards in the International Safety Awards 2018, for protecting our employees from the risk of injury and ill health at work.
The awards, with seven at Merit and 24 at Pass level from the British Safety Council, are in recognition of our commitment to keeping our employees and workplaces healthy and safe during the 2017 calendar year. This is an impressive increase from the 13 International Safety Awards won last year.
Now in their 60th year, the International Safety Awards recognise and celebrate organisations from around the world which have demonstrated, to the satisfaction of the scheme’s independent judges, their commitment to preventing workplace injuries and work-related ill health during the previous calendar year. The award ceremony, which is being held on 27th April at Grosvenor House Hotel in London, will be attended by all of the winners.
The Merit and Pass levels awarded by the International Safety Awards were earned by ISS business units and sites in a wide range of sectors including telecoms, IT & technology, healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, education and transport. ISS services in critical engineering, food services, transport, cleaning, and hotels & hospitality were also well represented. The new ISS UK state of the art headquarters building at Velocity was recognised with an award.
Matthew Brabin, Chief Executive Officer, ISS UK, commented: “This is a great achievement for ISS and evidences how seriously we take health and safety across our organisation and also on behalf of our customers.”
Mike Robinson, Chief Executive of the British Safety Council, congratulated ISS UK and its client and business sites on their success. He said: “The long list of winners of the International Safety Awards demonstrates that an increasing number of companies recognise that sensible and proportionate management of health and safety risks is a business enabler. It benefits workers, their families, businesses and society as a whole.
