NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) is heading to Mumbai this November to exhibit at the annual OSH India Exhibition and Conference. It will be showcasing its range of internationally recognised health and safety qualifications, including its Certificate in Process Safety Management.
Launched in 2017, the NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Process Safety Management was developed in partnership with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), Britain’s health and safety regulator. The qualification was designed for high hazard industries where process safety management is critically important. Students will gain an understanding of the best practices for managing process risk so that they can contribute to the control of process safety hazards.
Muhammed Nasim, from Kerala in India, works in Abu Dhabi as a Senior Process Safety Engineer for Applus+ Velosi. He holds two NEBOSH qualifications; the NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Process Safety Management and the NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
He said: “I was really excited to hear that NEBOSH was offering a process safety qualification as many of the projects my company works on involve process safety management. I already knew a lot about process safety but this qualification helped to mould my thinking around the management side and I learned a lot.
“Nobody wants anybody to lose anything – money, time or even their life. The main motivation for me is morality, but for my employer there are also economic considerations. Accidents cost money. That’s why they hire qualified people like me with specialist skills, so we can advise and guide them how to do things safely; it’s a win-win situation.”
Members of NEBOSH’s team will be at the OSH India Exhibition and Conference at the Bombay Exhibition Center, Mumbai, on 29-30 November 2018. Visit stand E37 to find out more about the NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Process Safety Management as well as NEBOSH’s suite of other qualifications.
