AMANDA HOLDEN ASCENDS TO THE TOP OF BLACKPOOL TOWER TO KICKSTART GLOBAL’S ‘MAKE SOME NOISE CAMPAIGN’

AMANDA HOLDEN ASCENDS TO THE TOP OF BLACKPOOL TOWER TO KICKSTART GLOBAL’S ‘MAKE SOME NOISE CAMPAIGN’

Supported by Arco Professional Safety Services, British media personality and Heart Presenter, Amanda Holden ascended the iconic Blackpool Tower to officially begin Global’s Make Some Noise Campaign. This year marks the tenth instalment of the annual week of challenges, composed of the biggest and bravest trials so far.

With the guidance of working from height specialists at the UK’s leading safety company, Amanda began the week of challenges in Blackpool, where she then climbed to the very top of the landmark tower, which stands at 518ft, before hitting a celebratory buzzer to recognise the achievement.

This marks the third occasion that Arco has climbed the Blackpool Tower, previously capturing iconic 360° images of the annual Red Arrows flyover at Blackpool Airshow whilst attached to the summit of the structure. Returning a year later, Arco Professional Safety Services captured the moment the Red Arrows flew over with Wing Commander Adam Collins in August 2023.

After two previous successful climbs, Russ Edwards, Bartek Biela and Jack Ball, Training Instructors at Arco Professional Safety Services along with Steve Dawson, Training Manager at Arco Professional Safety Services, facilitated the ascent and guided Amanda safely to the top of the tower. As the lead instructor for this event, Russ was responsible for training Amanda in personal fall-protection equipment and working at height prior to the event and guided her up the tower, with Bartek capturing the event on camera.

The feat was broadcast live from 8am on Heart, with the Britain’s Got Talent judge completing the challenge by the 9am target.

Russ Edwards said: “Though this was the third instance that we’ve conquered the climb of Blackpool Tower, it’s always an incredibly exciting opportunity with some phenomenal views waiting for us at the top. This time we also had the added benefit of escorting Amanda to the top all while supporting a great cause, a privileged responsibility that we were proud to accept.”
