Women in Health & Safety (WiHS) has announced a first partnership arrangement with Peoplesafe, a leading provider of employee protection services in the UK, who will be sponsoring the network to provide resource to enable it to grow and thrive. Founded in 2015 and supporting gender equality, Women in Health & Safety offers mentoring, professional and personal development, speed networking and events and amplifies female voices within the industry.
Run by Heather Beach, of Healthy Work Company in partnership with Safety and Health Expo, the group was set up to bring women in health and safety together to share their experiences and knowledge.
Naz Dossa, CEO at Peoplesafe, said: “Our sponsorship will enable the start of a new era for the Women in Health & Safety group, enabling them to deliver on their mission to be the voice for women in the industry, as well as supporting them to improve their career progression and development. We are delighted to help the group offer this invaluable service, which is already increasing opportunities for women in the sector and addressing some of the specific challenges they face.”
Since its launch in 2015, the Women in Health & Safety group has engaged with over 10,000 people via its events, social media channels and database.
Heather Beach, Founder, Women in Health & Safety, said: “Peoplesafe’s investment allows us to turn what was a side of desk project for a busy group of professionals into something with greater structure and weight. It has already allowed us to build a much stronger programme for the first half of 2023 with many more events – formal and informal – and we look forward to continuing to develop something which really serves the profession.”
Women in Health & Safety and Peoplesafe are hosting two upcoming events. The first, a webinar, 'Going beyond compliance in the age of wellbeing & hybrid working' on the 23 March. The webinar will cover the legal duties for hybrid working and commuting, how to manage risk at a distance and how to manage work-related stress, mental health and wellbeing. The second is an in-person event on the 20 April at VISA’s London HQ, looking at ‘How we protect people’s safety and health in a hybrid or remote working world?’ Register here.
