Shaken and Stirred: Filming on Bond 25 leaves crew member injured

Production of the new James Bond film has, once again, suffered a setback after a controlled explosion by the special effects team went wrong, leaving a crew member with a minor injury.

The official James Bond Twitter account explained: “During the filming of a controlled explosion on the set of Bond 25 today at Pinewood Studios, damage was caused to the exterior of the 007 Stage. There were no injuries on set, however one crew member outside the stage has sustained a minor injury.”

The incident is the latest setback for the Cary Fukunaga-directed 007 movie. Last month, the producers announced that Daniel Craig would be undergoing ankle surgery after suffering an injury on set.

The HSE are reported to have started an investigation at England-based Pinewood Studios, where production is taking place.

Quoting an ‘inside source’, tabloid newspaper The Sun said: “There were three huge explosions and it’s blown part of the Bond stage off and some wall panels off the stage. There were three loud explosions, one after another, and a member of the crew was lying on the floor outside the building injured.

“Forget new villain Rami Malek, the only people putting the stoppers on 007 right now are the government suits.

“They marched in with their briefcases and told the Bond bigwigs they were investigating what had gone on. It takes a lot to put Bond in his place, but this lot have.”
