Gavin Dutch comes on-board as Raven takes flight

Raven Controls new Non-Executive Chief Technology Officer Gavin Dutch

Raven, the real time incident management software, has strengthened its team, appointing to the board Gavin Dutch as Non-Executive Chief Technology Officer.

The appointment follows Raven’s successful deployment at this year’s Ryder Cup in Paris and European Championships in Glasgow.

Gavin boasts a wealth of experience having spent over 15 years working in the tech sector. In 2007 he founded Kotikan, which became Scotland's largest mobile app development agency. Developing apps for major companies such as the SQA, Standard Life and Skyscanner, the latter of which gained approximately 20million users within a year.

Gavin joins Raven as the company begins a recruitment drive to bring on-board a number of software engineers including front and back-end developers as well as experienced sales and marketing experts.

“With Raven we’re digitising incident management, response and tracking, a set of processes for which many stadiums and arenas still depend on pen and paper,” said Gavin.

“In order to succeed we need a passionate team of software professionals who are excited to revolutionise the way that event organisations manage safety.”

Working closely with Raven Controls MD, Ian Kerr, Gavin will use his expertise to ensure that Raven’s team of developers start from a solid foundation and are able to rapidly grow their capabilities to match those of a company expected to scale globally.

On his new role gavin said: “Raven is showing great potential at the moment and is in a unique position to rapidly scale to global prominence.

“It’s an exciting time to join the company. Having worked with Skyscanner and FanDuel early in their journeys, it’s great to be part of another innovative Scottish company showing such great promise.”

Raven Controls MD, Ian Kerr, added: “It’s great to have Gavin working with us as we develop our technical strategy. We’re building a developer team from scratch so having Gavin’s expertise to call upon as we shape our culture is a great asset which will ensure we are on a good footing moving forward.”
