SHE Software welcomes new chief technology officer

Scottish technology firm SHE Software has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Chris Rydings as Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

With more than 20 years’ experience in the IT sector, Rydings joins SHE Software from international IT service management firm, Axios Systems, where he served as global CTO.

His appointment comes as SHE Software accelerates its international expansion and gains global recognition for Assure, its highly configurable, state-of-the-art software solution designed to reduce risk for organisations by simplifying health and safety management.

Rydings will lead the company’s global development and engineering teams, bringing his extensive experience of IT service management, development operations and strong commercial acumen to drive SHE Software’s innovation and growth.

Rydings said: “Having worked in the technology sector for more than two decades, I believe that Assure has fantastic potential to shape the way organisations conduct their health and safety management.

“I’m looking forward to bringing my experience of delivering technology solutions that underpin customers’ needs to further build on Assure’s exceptional capabilities.”

Rydings began his career in the British Army before moving into the digital sector, where he served in several high-profile roles. As CTO of Arnold Clark, Europe’s largest car dealership, he was responsible for the company’s IT divisions infrastructure and led major transformational improvements to business efficiency.

On his new role, Rydings said: “The work that Matthew and the team are doing really does have the potential to save lives in the workplace and I am thrilled to be joining SHE Software at such an exciting time.”

The East Kilbride-based software development company has maintained its rapid growth over the past 12 months, continuing the 60 per cent per annum growth rate of the past three years and seeing revenues fast approach £4 million.

Following a £3m funding boost from NVM Private Equity, the firm recently launched a new centre of operations in Chicago, adding US interests to its well-established APAC customer base.

SHE Software CEO Matthew Elson said: “I am delighted to have Chris join SHE Software as our new CTO.

“His impressive technical and commercial background makes him an asset, and I firmly believe that his expertise will be extremely influential in our continuing success.”
