Selecting the right fall protection equipment (FPE) will be the focus of the next webinar in 3M’s popular Science of Safety series.

The free webinar, titled How to Choose the Right Personal Fall Protection Equipment, will run from 10.00 to 11.00 on 20 June 2018. It will be led by Stephen Morris, UK fall protection technical specialist at the science-based technology company.

Stephen will discuss how current EN testing criteria shapes the way FPE is used and designed; equipment selection based on fall clearances and anchor location; and sharp end and swing fall hazards.

He said: “Choosing the correct FPE is the first step required for a successful fall protection programme, followed by suitable maintenance, user competence and compliance surveillance. The selection process can seem particularly daunting, as there are so many options available and so many situations in which the equipment is required.

“This webinar will give professionals from a wide range of industries the information they need to choose FPE that is both adequate to protect against the hazards being faced and suitable for the individual, task and environment.”

3M’s Science of Safety webinar series is aimed at everyone from company directors and health and safety managers to employees wishing to broaden their knowledge.

The interactive webinars are broadcast live online, allowing participants to ask questions in real time both during and after the session, prompting lively discussion. Attendance may also be used towards CPD points.
