Speakers at the British Safety Council’s conference in Bahrain will demonstrate how businesses in the Middle East can achieve the highest standards of health and safety management.

The British Safety Council’s conference Striving for excellence, being held on 9 April 2018 at the InterContinental Regency Hotel in Manama, Bahrain, will provide a platform for sharing expertise, best practice and business experience of managing health and safety to the highest international standards.

The half-day event will feature expert speakers, thought leadership sessions and case studies, such as that of Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO) presented by Hafedh Al-Qassab, General Manager Refining at the Bahrain Petroleum. They are designed to help organisations prepare for the future health and safety challenges.

For 60 years, the British Safety Council has been campaigning, advising and educating workers and employers worldwide on how to make workplaces safe for everyone, as well as sharing best practice in work-related health, wellbeing and managing environmental risks. The British Safety Council has strong links with the Middle Eastern region and works in partnership with many leading businesses in Bahrain, such as Aluminium Bahrain (ALBA), Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO), Bahrain National Gas Company and Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC).

Our personal safety journey is the result of continual improvement of our health and safety management systems over many decades. It resulted in the current excellent personal safety records reflected by a number of international safety awards. Our presentation will focus on our safety journey, the tools we used, the benefits we realised and our future plans.
